TuNur is a partner of a number of international initiatives that promote renewable energy. TuNur works with the DESERTEC Foundation which has endorsed the TuNur project on 24 January 2012, and is a founding shareholder of MedGrid.

The DESERTEC Foundation is a global civil society initiative aiming to shape a sustainable future. It is a non-profit foundation that is working on the fast global implementation of the DESERTEC Concept, a comprehensive solution for a clean energy future that combats climate change, ensures a reliable energy supply, and promotes development and security. With around 20 staff members and regional network coordinators, and a large global community of supporters, it is active around the world to inform the civil society sector and politicians about the benefits of DESERTEC, promote the establishment of the framework conditions necessary for a global transition to renewables, support knowledge transfer and scientific co-operation and foster exchange and co-operation with the private sector.
Set up in July 2010, Medgrid (formerly TransGreen) is a consortium of industry leaders in electricity generation, transmission and distribution as well as in infrastructure financing and climate change services. It is an initiative launched with the support of the French Government to promote renewable energy export from North Africa under the framework of the Mediterranean Solar Plan (MSP). Medgrid responds to a strong need for more interconnections (HVDC) between the two shores of the Mediterranean Sea that allows co-developments of electricity exchanges in the Mediterranean Basin.
